Job Title: Staff Backend Engineer (Python) Experience Required: 4-12 Years in Software Engineering Location: [Pune – WFO] Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Staff Python Backend Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and building high-performance, scalable, and reliable backend systems. You will play a key role in shaping backend architecture, influencing technology decisions, and driving engineering best practices. This is a hands-on Individual Contributor role, where you will take ownership of the product lifecycle—from concept to deployment—while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality backend systems Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures Architect and optimize systems for performance, scalability, and reliability Evaluate and recommend technology solutions based on research and best practices Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues in a timely manner Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and technical planning Reduce technical debt and improve system efficiency Collaborate with product, frontend, DevOps, and QA teams Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth Required Skills & Qualifications Strong proficiency in Python with hands-on experience in FastAPI Experience building microservices and REST-based architectures Strong knowledge of RDBMS (PostgreSQL preferred) Hands-on experience with: Message Queues (Kafka / RabbitMQ / SQS) Elasticsearch Experience in building distributed, scalable, enterprise-grade applications Strong experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, VPC, IAM, SQS, etc.) Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (preferred) Strong problem-solving and debugging skills Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders Self-driven and capable of working with minimal supervision Good to Have Experience in Cybersecurity / Secure system design Exposure to high-availability systems and event-driven architecture Work Environment Work from Office (WFO) – Mandatory Fast-paced, product-based startup environment Opportunity to work on scalable and high-impact systems Why Join Us?
